I liked that it was a good community trying to help. Plus his atttitude toward Sam (i think) at the beginning of “what if they don’t want him?” was shittyĭale was great, he felt like a real person but definite fodder. Even so, if someone is in a state of wanting to go like that, I just go. Margot wanted to leave and seemed genuinely upset and he said “wait till the morning”? Like, it was still light out. She was just snooping around because she wanted to know her mother? Why not the father? Does that justify her picking locks and disrespecting a community?Ĭhris was classic “It’s a trick of the lens” and it was exhausting. Margot snoops around peoples house and land after they didn’t want them to be here and then relenting by giving free room and board even after the relationship with Sarah is revealed. I like Paranormal Activity a lot but the main characters are just so abhorrent. It can only have been shot afterwards and inserted? Lighting/framing and the complete break in style made this scene stand out way more than it needed to. Also the studio wanting a clearer shot at the reaction of Margot, to the reveal of her mother?Ĭonsidering how the film went out of its way to keep the found footage style mostly consistent, that scene was wildly off kilter from everything else that had come before. I can only assume that these shots were inserted as a result of the studio wanting a clearer shot of the monster (which to me also looks a little different than the one we see briefly in the other shots). Some of the shots that immediately follow this scene have a very slight different look to them, and the continuity of the actors appearance looks slightly off too. However I have a feeling that this scene was the result of studio notes/interference and possible reshoots. ‘Ghoul’ scene really stood out to me, and I wanted to come here to see what people said about it. Sorry for the late reply to this comment, but having just watched the movie this I don’t know, the movie just seemed to have a lot of holes honestly. But then that begs the question, why would the demon be doing any of this? What does it get out of throwing this girl around the room and making her go on her period? It can’t have been the community trying to get her pregnant for an heir since it was clearly a demonic thing throwing her around the room and the demon wasn’t going to help them keep it imprisoned. Im not sure what I was supposed to get from that scene. Like, the whole scene happens, then it’s never really mentioned again and forgotten about. That scene where Margot got “impregnated” or whatever was weird. They’d run into the exact same problem of there being no heir in 20-30 years again regardless. At best, they just seem to be delaying the demon’s escape by a generation. So what the heck is the cult going to do when Margot, like Sarah, can no longer hold Asmodeus? It seems obvious to me that she was somehow impregnated. I mean, maybe all this is explained by whatever the heck happened to Margot that night Chris and Dale were drugged. I think Jacob has sons, but it doesn't seem like those sons or their offspring count for anything because if they did then Jacob could have forced one of them to produce a suitable vessel or something. So what the heck is the cult going to do when Margot, like Sarah, can no longer hold Asmodeus? Margot has no child, and Sarah was Jacob's only daughter. Margot, like Sarah, seems to be specially suited for the necessary task. The cult needed to use Margot to contain Asmodeus. But they didn't do that, and they even opted to only drug(?) the spares rather than kill them when killing them would have been more convenient. were bad people, they could have killed the spares and locked Margot in a room from Go. Margot endeavored to visit the farm, returned after being turned away, and continued to stay even after some sort of invisible entity got into the bed she was hiding under, which would have been any normal person's breaking point. Yes, Jacob made an effort to find and establish contact with Margot through Sam, but Margot did everything else.
